“Parents urged to stop forcing their children into universities as MacLean’s questions cultural balance on campuses
Long admired for raising academic superstars, parents of Asian background are coming under fire from their own community for pushing their children into university programs for which many have no real interest or talent and often quit in distress…”
Today’s paper. Oh, Asians.
Oh gawd, so many people I know would find this article highly relevant. I’m re-blogging this for you troopers. You know who you are :P
Reblog because this is relevant.
When I was in grade school, I got grounded for 3 months because I couldn’t test into the Accelerated Program for 7th grade (teaching HS Freshman Level Courses). I got into the program for 8th Grade, and got yelled at because I didn’t pull a 4.0 (3.7 doesn’t cut it).
Then in High School, I was told I had to go to a Top 10 College. I was supposed to be a Doctor, Lawyer, or do “Anything with computers”
I went to a public state college, bounced at a strip club during, and ended up as a Salesman.
SUCK IT ASIAN LIFE!
It’s funny because Asians would dismiss this as with “it’s because white people have it easy.”
… Yes, that tends to happen.
My life, and also I’m 90% sure the Maclean’s article was based ON QUEEN’S. Kbye.
