Lately I’ve been motivating myself to get into better shape. I fall off and on the wagon, but generally I’ve been mildly successful with a 10lbs loss and regaining some strength.
This is possible through a combination of the Gym and Jiu Jitsu since December. I love going to Jiu Jitsu, however I hate going to the Gym. I realize I need to do some basic work in the gym in order to be more successful with Jiu Jitsu. But I really do hate going to the Gym. With a passion. Whenever I go, I just want to finish my workout and get out. I don’t like hanging out there.
I’ve joined Xsport because of the convenience of 24/7. I could’ve joined local gyms, but this works well with my schedule. However, I forget Xsport is one of those popular “fitness clubs” that just seem to attract time wasters.
Here’s why I hate “fitness clubs”:
1. There’s always people who hog up the benches and do nothing. They simply take up the space when you need it. Usually just watching TV. Or hanging out.
2. People who talk on their cell phone in the gym, usually doing said item above. I NEED YOUR GODDAMN MACHINE/BENCH. WHY THE HELL ARE YOU ON A CELL PHONE IN A GYM YOU INCONSIDERATE A**HOLE.
3. People who feel they need to use three different machines at once, and won’t let you work in.
4. People who leave a workout station for a long time (usually perpetrators of reason 3). When they see you going to the weight rack, they stop what they’re doing to tell you they’re still using it.
5. People who don’t clean off their sweat from machines
6. People who don’t put back their weights.
7. People who gather, and talk, and shoot the breeze in your workout space. You can’t do a full range of motion or have to wait mid rep for these d*cks to move out of the way.
